Waitlist

To make a reservation record for a guest that does not hold inventory items, but records the guest request and preferences, and places the guest on a list to wait for their requested offer, product, service or inventory item to become available – with no guarantee that the reservation will be confirmed.

Waiver

Within IHG, this is an exemption to a Brand rule made available to hotels on a case-by-case basis. Within the Guest Reservation System (GRS), this is an exemption to a business rule that is granted by the business rule owner for a specified period of time and may include Brand rule exemptions..

Walk-In

Guest who arrives with no reservation for any product or service.

Wash Factor

The variance between the number of rooms contracted and the number of rooms held out of general inventory.
