Parity |

Participation Dates |
An inventory control measure, which allows hotels to select which dates they will participate in an offer/promotion. |
Payment Processing System |
The system that would be required to handle payments on behalf of IHG’s Central Reservations System (CRS), and pass authorisation codes back to the CRS to confirm payment success. This does not exist today within IHG, but each hotel has their own contracted payment system provider. This is why IHG cannot take payments online for hotel reservations. |
Penalty |
Rules that require a customer to forfeit something if the conditions within the rules are not met e.g. a cancellation penalty may require a customer to forfeit 100% of their deposit if their reservation is not cancelled by a stipulated time. These rules are conveyed to the customer during search, availability, booking, and confirmation processing. |

Performance Marketing Programme |
Provides exposure on the web and drives revenue to our website and CRO through affiliate marketing, online media and search marketing efforts. There are no up-front marketing or GDS fees and a hotel only pays when it receives a consumed booking for a commissionable rate that occurs as a result of a Performance Marketing initiative. These commissions are then used to pay for the advertising that was purchased. Commissions are billed on the room only and are paid through the IHG Commission Services system. |
PerformSM Product Class |
A grouping of Room Types that have similar features and value. In Perform, the rooms (hotel supply) are categorised into product classes. PerformSM can have up to 3 product classes (PC1, PC2, PC3), although typically hotels use 2. Pseudo City Code |
Identifier that distinguishes one travel agency location from another and can also be referred to as a Subscriber ID. A Pseudo-city code (PCC) is usually a three to five character code (alpha, numeric, or combination) depending upon the GDS.
