Property Management System (PMS) check-out data extract sent to the Data Warehouse from individual hotels.

Day Delegate Rate

Rate charged by a venue per delegate per day based on a full day meeting. This rate will usually include meeting room hire, two or three refreshment breaks, lunch and sometimes conference equipment (flipchart, screen etc).

Demand Calendar

A calendar indicating the forecast demand for a product or service over defined units of time e.g. daily demand, hourly demand.

Denial

Instances where IHG turns down the customer’s exact request to book. For example, due to lack of availability; due to the customer request not meeting yield requirements; due to the customer not meeting terms and conditions.

Denial Code

An identifier assigned to the denial transaction indicating where in the reservation process the customer was when the system had to deny an availability request. All denials will be assigned a denial code.

Rate plan which includes accommodation, breakfast and dinner.

Direct Billing

Allows any eligible (credit-checked and contracted) customer to guarantee and/or pay for reservations without using a credit card or a payment at the time of booking, and allows the guest to check out and have their final bill sent on to their company, agency, or wholesaler address. A direct billing instruction is accompanied by details of which charges may be sent to the company, agency, or wholesaler address for payment, and which must be settled by the guest on departure from the hotel.

Direct Channel

Internal channels owned by IHG. Direct channels include: IHG websites, mobile, hotel to hotel via Guest Reservations System booking tool, hotel direct via Guest Reservations System booking tool or Property Management System, Central Reservations Offices, which customers use to make reservations.

Distributable

The ability to send an attribute to any channel to be searched or booked.

Dynamic Extra Person Pricing

A dynamic fee that a hotel may add (per use, per stay or per night) to any product when used or consumed by more than one guest. The fee charged for each guest may be different and hotels may select the number of guests that triggers this fee and can change by product or product and attribute combination or a rate plan.

Dynamic Offer

An offer allowing all transient customers, who are not booking a predefined marketing promotion, to have the ability to use all the conditions of sale offered through the sell strategy, that pass the bid price (assuming they meet the conditions required).

Dynamic Packaging

 

The process of creating a unique package of inventory types during the reservation process.

Dynamic Pricing

The process of determining a product's value in commercial transactions in a fluid manner depending on current market conditions.
